Is this the direction of baseball in general? Not sure, but it’s what just happened.
Banished to the Pen | Alex Crisafulli: Kind of similar to my Dynasty Points, this examines franchise rankings from 1995 to 2018 using similar metrics of World Series, playoff appearances, etc. It’s no surprise that the Yankees top the list, followed by the Red Sox and Cardinals.
The Athletic | Cliff Corcoran ($): Rest in peace, Willie McCovey. Even though we all knew he was great, his greatness is still somewhat underappreciated. He easily had the highest OPS+ from 1965-1970, and he finished his career with over 500 home runs, despite the fact the Giants of that era never gave him the chance to really shine in the postseason. He’ll be missed greatly.
