A swarm of flying ants on their mating ritual flight descended on Wimbledon causing disruption on and off court.
The wing-creatures appeared late in the afternoon and were soon seen across the majority of courts, and bugging spectators on Henman Hill.
Birmingham is also experiencing an invasion of the ants - but how do you get rid of them?
The Mirror reports if you simply want to keep them at bay on a smaller scale, then one woman's simple trick may just be the solution.
Answering many of our prayers this summer, Christine Fox shared her tip on Twitter .
"Ants hate chalk. Draw a chalk ring around your drink or outline your coasters and they won't cross the line," she wrote.
Sure enough, she included a photo of an ant on the edge of a chalk line - and crucially not crossing it.
In fact, the critter looked as if they'd been stopped in their tracks.
Describing it has her "summertime hack" Christine added that it "worked like a charm" for her.
Christine's gem of advice has since attracted a lot of attention, with fans quickly saying they'd be trying this out.
"This is genius," one wrote. "As an added bonus, one could also keep children occupied as a pest control force, were one so inclined."
"Ok my house going to look like a kindergarten playground lol," another added.
