NHL Playoff Schedule 2018: Game Times, TV Coverage and Tuesday Live-Stream Guide

The Washington Capitals are in danger of flaming out in the playoffs yet again.

Alex Ovechkin and his teammates have been a dominant regular-season team throughout the majority of his tenure in Washington. However, the Caps have never gotten past the second round in the Ovechkin era.

They seem unlikely to get that far this season. They are down 0-2 to the Columbus Blue Jackets, having dropped the first two games at home in overtime.

The series shifts to Nationwide Arena in Columbus on Tuesday night, and the raucous Blue Jackets fans are likely to be in full throat as the franchise appears to have an excellent chance at earning its first postseason series triumph.

The Washington-Columbus matchup is one of three games on the schedule for Tuesday night.

Winnipeg Jets at Minnesota Wild, 8 p.m., CNBC, Winnipeg leads series 2-1.

Vegas Golden Knights at Los Angeles Kings, 10:30 p.m., NBCSN, Vegas leads series 3-0.

The Capitals have had two-goal leads in both of the first two games, but they have not been able to hold them against the resilient Blue Jackets.

Artemi Panarin leads the Blue Jackets with five points in the first two games, including the game-winning goal in the first game of the series. Matt Calvert snapped home the winner in the second game, and head coach John Tortorella has seen his team get strong contributions throughout the lineup.

In addition to Panarin, Cam Atkinson, Zach Werenski and Seth Jones have contributed three points each.

The Caps have gotten an excellent effort from defenseman John Carlson, who has registered six assists in the first two games. Center Nicklas Backstrom has four assists and has been able to weave his passes through the Columbus defense.

Columbus has won two tight games on the road, and the Capitals will try to do the same thing over the next two games. If they can't, they will either be in deep trouble or their season will be over.

The Minnesota Wild appeared to be up against it in the first two games of this first-round series, as they were unable to hang with the powerful Winnipeg Jets on the road.

When the Wild got to play at home in Game 3, it didn't appear like things would be much better, because they didn't seem to have the physical presence without injured defenseman Ryan Suter.

However, the Wild matched the Jets in the physical aspects in Game 3 and rolled to a 6-2 victory. If Minnesota can sustain that effort at home in Game 4, the Wild will square the series at 2-2.

The Wild had a 2-1 lead after the first period and then outscored the Jets 4-1 in the second period. Matt Dumba, Mikael Granlund and Eric Staal each had a goal and an assist for the Wild, and rookie Jordan Greenway scored the first goal of his career.

Winnipeg will try to counter with the size, strength and talent of Blake Wheeler, Patrik Laine and Dustin Byfuglien. This should be a tight game that could be decided in overtime.

The Los Angeles Kings are in a 0-3 hole and they will try to keep the first-year Vegas Golden Knights from sweeping them.

This has been a low-scoring series featuring the outstanding goaltending of Jonathan Quick and Marc-Andre Fleury. Fleury has been just a little bit better, the Knights have controlled the action for long periods and the Kings appear to be running out of time.
