Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi have joined the growing list of injured Super Eagles players, which also include Ogenyi Onazi and Tyrone Ebuehi.

Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi have joined the growing list of injured Super Eagles players, which also include Ogenyi Onazi and Tyrone Ebuehi.

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger confirmed in a post-match conference yesterday that Iwobi suffered a hamstring problem in their 2-1 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

As everyone saw, the Hale End Academy product played through the pain barrier against the Red Devils, but could not be substituted because Wenger had used all of his three substitutes.

Ahead of the trip to the Spanish capital on Wednesday for the Europa League semifinal second leg against Atlético de Madrid, the Frenchman is also sweating on the fitness of David Ospina and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Wilfred Ndidi went through a scan after suffering a serious injury in his team’s 5-0 loss to Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday, and is now awaiting the results of the medical examination.

The Foxes medical team has contacted the Nigeria Football Federation and informed them that the defensive midfielder will have recovered before the start of the 2018 World Cup.

“Ndidi suffered a hamstring injury, he has done a scan and is waiting for feedback from the doctors,’’ a top source told allnigeriasoccer.com.

“‘The focus is on how to get him ready for the World Cup, Leicester City say they are going to do their best. He is very determined to play at the World Cup.

“The Leicester City physiotherapist is in touch with the Nigeria Football Federation and informed them that he will be fit before the start of the World Cup.”
