Iran President Hassan Rouhani has spoken to Canadian Prime Minister, promising further investigation into the downing of a Ukrainian airliner.

Canada had 57 of the passengers on board the Kiev-bound plane.

All passengers, including crew numbering about 176 died in the crash.

Iran on Saturday admitted downing the Ukranian international plane and blamed “human error” for it.

Canada had earlier said it expects the “full cooperation” of Iranian authorities in investigating the downing of Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752.

President Rouhani, during a telephone conversation with Canadian Prime Minister, Trudeau, promised further investigation into the incident, Iranian state news agency IRNA reported, according to Al Jazeera

“Iran welcomes any international cooperation in the framework of international relations to shed more light on the incident,” Rouhani said, promising further investigation into the crash that Tehran said was caused by its air defences “unintentionally. “
