Noted Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti has shared his thoughts on Inter manager Antonio Conte’s decision to speak about lack of depth following the 1-1 draw with Atalanta at the weekend.

“You cannot always blame the squad. Roberto Gagliardini and Matias Vecino would both get themselves into many other Serie A teams but it is another matter for Borja Valero,” he remarked in an interview with Italian radio station TMW Radio.

“Inter have plenty players but they are not of sufficient quality and that is what the problem is. Conte is quick to complain about what he does not have but he does not explain what he has.”

He then spoke on Inter’s interest in signing Christian Eriksen and where he thinks Inter need to deploy him to get the best out of him.

“If signed, he must be deployed as an attacking midfielder. He has played some games on the left wing and some as a regista but at Inter he must be played in behind the strikers.
