Story
This wrenching new play by Martyna Majok is the tale of four very different people in four very different circumstances, each trying to get by. Eddie, a 49-year-old unemployed truck driver, reunites with his ex-wife Ani after she suffers a devastating accident. John, an intellectually brilliant but physically scarred doctoral student, hires an over-worked Jess, a caregiver. As their lives intersect, the results are neither what any character anticipates nor what we thought we saw coming.
This skillful drama allows the audience to delve deep into the motivations, success, and failure of individuals just like us but entirely different. Cost of Living isn’t just entertainment. With this story, Majok posits faith in the human spirit and its ability to not only survive but also thrive.
