Hi strangers :). I took this a bit ago in death valley while hiking the dunes! I had to hike pretty far out to get out of the area where there were many foot prints. As I was heading back sun was setting casting a nice soft glow on the hills. I slid down a dune to get this angle. I loved how the textures lead to the middle of the image. I love death valley, and it has to be my favorite park. If you do ever visit I'd recommend late fall, winter, or early spring so you don't have to deal with too much heat.

Went camping there once as a kid. On the way to the bathroom I saw a sidewinder for my first time, and then I spent like an hour and a half feeding graham crackers to kangaroo mouses. Good time, I recommend it. Bring sunscreen and a small ocean.
Death Valley has mf dunes? I thought that shit only happened in the Sahara.

This is beautiful. I love the colors in your photos as well. So much landscape photography I see is graded very dark. I really like how your photos carry more light and still capture the drama in the landscape.

Is it possible to do a short day trip to Death Valley from Vegas, maybe leave around 5am, aim to get there 7am, leave for Vegas at noon?

You totally can do that. I left Vegas around 10am, went to Mt. Charleston and hiked towards the peak until the snow made things too difficult (couple hours total.) Then drove out to Death Valley and spent a few hours wandering the dunes. Got back to Vegas as the sun was setting. This was last May

This shot actually needed very little editing. Some of my work is very edited where some isn’t as much, I like to mix it up :)

Twilight yes and no, if it has stars very much so! Cause it takes multiple exposures to get everything in. Golden hour shots aren’t as edited as much , at least in comparison to my twilight work

I love this. I tried to capture something similar-ish in White Sands a couple years ago but didn't achieve it to nearly this degree. You don't happen to have something similar in a landscape, do you? Would love it as my desktop background.

I did this last March! Go in early spring or winter or late fall lol. Just so you can avoid the heat. I think it still got up to 90 that day but wasn’t too bad

Have you been to the coral pink sand dunes in Utah? You could create some absolute magic with those. Just before spring, the snow melts and the dunes take on a red hue. Also, there are hardly any tourists in the colder months.
I want to go so so so bad, I was so upset I couldn’t make it out last time I was near there.
It's totally worth it. I hope you make it out there next trip.

This is in Death Valley?? I never would have guessed there would be anything worth seeing there! I love the texture and how soft this picture looks. The fine lines when you zoom in are really soothing to me too.
It’s by far my favorite national park! The colors in the rocks, crazy salt plains, dunes, and various geological formations are littered through here. If you haven’t you should check it out! Just do NOT go in the summer lol
It is a completely bizarre landscape, or rather a variety of landscapes. The air is clean and there are more stars than I've ever seen. There's a kooky little place to stay at the Northwestern corner called Panamint Springs. Authentic and not expensive. They used to have a large friendly pig who lived there and just moseyed around the place.
This should be the cover for the new Dune movie. It's breaking my brain while giving me great joy at the same time.
God I wish they would use any of my dune shots for dune lol
