Helena Bonham Carter Didn't Hold Back Her Thoughts About Her 21-Year Age Difference With Her Boyfriend

Points were made.

In case you haven't been following every update about Helena Bonham Carter's interpretation of Princess Margaret in the upcoming third season of The Crown, well, she's really committed to the role.

Not only did she consult with a medium to get the late Princess Margaret's approval from beyond the grave, she is also living a parallel life in one respect: dating someone with an age difference.

While Princess Margaret was in an eight-year relationship with Roddy Llewellyn, who was 17 years her junior, Helena is seeing someone 21 years younger than she is — and she is fully aware of the "odd timing" of it all.

Helena, 53, opened up to The Times about her relationship with Rye Dag Holmboe, 32, and on the subject of being in a relationship with an age difference similar to Princess Margaret, said, “It’s strange."

Of course, this parallel in her and Princess Margaret's life wasn't intentional. It just sort of happened.

She then fully owned their age difference, while talking about why she's so drawn to Rye.

Princess Margaret would definitely approve.

Thankfully, we don't have to wait much longer to see Helena's take on Princess Margaret.
