Persepolis legend Jafar Kashani passed away at the age of 76

Persepolis legend and head of club board Jafar Kashani died of heart attack at the age 76.

Kashani who played as centeral defender for Persepolis and Iran national team in 1970s, won Takht-e-Jamshid league and AFC Asian cup.

He worked as a diplomat for Iran ministry of foreign affairs after ending his career.
Kashani returned to football two decades later and became Persepolis head of board, the post he served until his death.

He was suffering from heart condition in recent years and his driver found his body today at his home.
Afc official Instagram account wrote:”Our deepest sympathy goes to the family and friends of the two-time AFC Asian cup winner, Jafar Kashani who passed away on Wednesday.”
