Ivan Rakitic could be set to leave Barcelona in the upcoming January transfer window having seen his playing time significantly reduced this season according to a report from Tuttosport.

The Croatian midfielder has been limited to just 186 minutes across the Blaugrana’s first 10 matches across all competitions this season, a difference of 632 compared to the 818 that he played at the start of last season.

Rakitic drew heavy links to both Inter and Paris Saint Germain during the Summer transfer window but rejected both club’s reported advances due to feeling he still had a part to play at Barcelona, despite the signings they were making, such as Frenkie De Jong.

The 31-year-old is under contract with the Spanish powerhouses until the end of the 2020/2021 season and the report goes on to state that if presented with an opportunity to leave in January, he will not make the same mistake as he did in the Summer.
