At ImpactRays we are farmers turned engineers heading back home to make a difference. We have taken our innovation and by testing in Bauchi, Nigeria can work towards a full-scale launch. At the heart of our proposal is a smart irrigation system we call Impact Irrigation Kit, which is solar powered. We also create an intelligent energy management system which helps reduce energy costs significantly. Our innovation feeds data from sensors embedded in fields and transmits the data to coded microcontrollers. Combined with a commodity-based Islamic financing model farmers simply produce and buyers commit to buying the crops in advance.

Our idea was slated the Campus Champion of Hult@IIUM and went on to become the regional Champion in Kuala Lumpur. Currently, we are competing for the top 5 spot in the biggest entrepreneurship competition for Universities.

Our Impact Irrigation kit reduces water usage by 50 percent, labor costs by 70–80 percent and energy costs by 90 percent. For Nigeria, it means rice, 3X. We improve yields, produce throughout the year and improve lives.
