Senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari had an interesting exchange in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday over project delays, with Mr. Rudy stating that though the Minister wanted speedy resolutions, people sitting in the gallery [a reference to Ministry officials] did not seem to want it.

Investigation on

The Minister was quick to defend the officials, and pointed out the particular contractor that Mr. Rudy referred to was facing investigation into serious fraud.

The Minister, however, added that a ‘positive and transparent approach’ along with time-bound decision-making could resolve all issues.

“There are some people who convert problems into opportunities and there are some who convert opportunities into problems,” said the Union Minister without naming anyone.
