    Elinor Dougall has obviously taken her time to get this album sounding just as she wants – Strange Warnings and Poison Ivy first appeared on 2013’s Future Vanishes EP – and, on the majority of these cuts, that time has been unquestionably well spent. It doesn’t all work. ... Stellular finishes strong, however.

    Dougall’s voice, which is always sounds faintly sad (all the best voices do) laying a melancholic consistency across the whole thing. Star-shaped indeed.

Rose sometimes ventures on to difficult emotional territory some people would prefer to ignore ('Hell And Back'), but there is also humour and joy in this sturdy selection of balanced songs. If i believed in "albums of the year", 'Stellular' would be one.… Expand
