Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) today released the following statement on the 60th anniversary of the Little Rock Nine:

"Today is a solemn anniversary, but it's also a reminder of the courage shown by the Little Rock Nine, who helped Arkansas and the nation overcome deep-seated prejudices by appealing to the better angels of our nature. It's important that we preserve the Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site in its entirety so that future generations can see for themselves what the Little Rock Nine saw on that momentous day. The lesson we learned was too dearly bought to let it be lost to the ravages of time."
