Glam Cozy Fall Living Room

Hello & welcome to The House of Silver Lining! This has been the month of fall tours in our home and today is our third home tour in seven days.  Yikes! I’ve been busy decorating since early August. Good thing the weather in Colorado feels fall-fabulous and I’m loving having an early start to my fall decor. I’m so excited to be a part of the 2016 Fall Home Tours hosted by the super sweet Marty at A Stroll Through Life.  For those of you coming from Thrifty and Chic, I’m so happy you’re here! Thank you to my regular readers for visiting once again too! I know you’ve seen a whole lot of fall in my house lately!

Let’s step on into our glam cozy fall living room.  Where the sun pours in all day long and I can lay on that sofa and get a suntan.

If you’ve been around this room before than you will notice a few new changes since our summer tour. Things are always changing in our home…I get restless and rearrange.  With a cold long winter ahead of us this new wool rug will be super cozy.

Velvet pillows in burgundy, leopard and gold are my favorite fall colors.

Our aspen trees and shrubs were getting a little overgrown in our yard, so I clipped away, along with some roses and created this fall flower arrangement.

Every room needs a fall scented candle.

My favorite fall decor that I always look forward to pulling out of storage are these golden fall leaf branches. Soon, our trees will look like this and I can’t wait! I had fun displaying these in our kitchen last week for a fall tour {here}.

This daybed is also a new piece to our living room. It was one of those pieces of furniture that I had been obsessed with for over a year and after some recent room makeover dilemmas in here, I decided to make the purchase. It’s big enough to stretch out on which I can’t wait to do on those cold winter, snowy nights.

I like to keep our mantle decor to a minimum.  A few glitter pumpkins are all it needed.

    1. Thank you Bree for stopping by! The floral arrangement was so easy and made me realize I’ve been spending too much money on flowers from the store! I’m clipping from my yard for now on (that is when everything isn’t frozen and winter bare..haha!) 😉

  1. I love your living room, the burgundy and leopard are so pretty with your soft grays. I agree with Julia, you do florals better than anyone, always a show stopper. I love the new chaise too, that would become my favorite place to snuggle in and enjoy the fire. Beautiful tour.

    1. Thank you so much for inviting me on this tour Marty! Always so fun! We both love the leopard print, don’t we! 😉 I wish you could come over for a visit, that would be so fun! Happy fall sweet friend!

  2. Shauna, I just discovered your blog via the Early Fall Home Tour. I just had to say hi, your work is awesome and photography is motivating (the one thing I’m struggling with). I am just starting out in the blogging world and can’t wait to sit down and read through your blog and your experiences! Congrats on your success!

    1. Hi Amy! Thank you so much for such a sweet comment! Photography is one of the trickiest parts of blogging and I’m no pro by any means, still have so much to learn, but once I figured out how to work my camera in manual, it got so much better. Good luck with your blog and hang in there! It’s a lot of work, but can be so fulfilling and fun as well! Happy fall! 🙂

  3. Glam and cozy it definitely all is Shauna! I love that Daybed too and all the subtle yet so-chic Fall touches you added! So honored to share this Fall home tour with you!

  4. A day bed in front of the fireplace would be my daughter’s dream! Gotta show it to her. It’s all indeed glam and so cozy! And that flower arrangement, perfection!

  5. Shauna, My living room faces south and we have a very large front window from which we get to see a magnificent view but (I didn’t mention we live in Arizona) we get lots and lots of sun. It fades my leather couches and it has even affected my wood floor.

I saw in your post that you get sun all day long as well. I was wondering how you deal with fading or if you get it at all. I’m afraid to go with a fabric covered couch for that reason.

    1. Hi Elisabeth! I actually haven’t had any problems with my furniture fading or floors in the 6 years we’ve lived here. I’m kind of surprised especially since this room can get hot. I can’t imagine how it would be in Arizona! The one thing that helps, although I rarely close them is that I have cellular shades on remote control that I close sometimes in the summer if it’s a really hot day out. You can’t see them when they’re up since they stack so tightly. We also have most of the floor covered with an area rug, but the the outskirts that are exposed have been fine. I’ve heard you can get window tinting that helps cut down sun damage, maybe look into that? Our furniture is more of a velvety texture and tweed backing, so maybe that fades less? On the flip side, our furniture in our family room at our beach cottage did fade quite a bit and it was cotton. Good luck with it!

  6. Hi ! I love your wall art – the one with all the artists names. It is fabulous ! Where did you get it ? Would love to purchase it for my home. Thank you and have a wonderful day!

    1. Hi Brooke, I purchased the wall art about 6 years ago from a local design boutique. I’m sorry I don’t a current source for you. I’ve been searching but haven’t seen it anywhere. Sorry I’m of no help on this one. Happy Sunday!
