Had a nursery of raccoons run through my yard a few nights back and attack the chicken coop. My neighbour heard the ruckus and hopped the fence to to see one dragging our biggest hen across the yard, luckily there was an ore in my fishing boat and he beat the raccoon off her, all in all my chickens are alive. One has a broken wing, and the worst one has lost an eye and is being fed through an syringe right now (might not make it). They are not scared of humans at all, they came back last night but we were waiting and spooked them off. Looks like we’re at war now...

Those poor chickens! My dad says these critters have been getting into his hay bales and messing them up. Those faces look pretty innocent to me though... lol.
Yeah, I had no problem with them before, they would sometimes get the fallen fruit from our trees and grapes. This is our first year with chickens though so it’s a different ball game now.
They don't mess with my full grown cats, but they once grabbed a four week old kitten, and carried him away. That's when I really started to hate them.
The fat bastard that lives in the tree behind my house is going to catch a beating one of these days. He keeps dragging trash all over my yard from my neighbor's bin, and snarled at my son. I've thrown rocks at him and he just stared. I'm seriously thinking about cutting that tree down because fuck him.

Yep, that's what they're doing to me atm. I've lost about half of our chickens to them and neighborhood dogs. Along with 6 kittens.
I mean cats go out and slaughter all kinds of creatures, sometimes just for fun. I say this as a cat owner. It's just the circle of life. Oohhhoohhh.
If this is a corn farm, they'll tear down the stalks, and leave half-eaten cobs everywhere.

So apparently they got imported into Russia and Germany since 1934 for hunting. Of course they started breeding and really became a problem in some areas in the past years that they had to start hunting them...

They look healthy but they shouldn't be seen during daylight hours, they're nocturnal, so being out in daylight is an indication rabies may be a possibility.
Being nocturnal animal doesn't mean you need to always hide at daytime. Like people during night - some animals have some activity during day. Especially when it comes to young and curious ones :D
This picture was actually taken yesterday evening while my dad was out checking on the cows. They are healthy young babies being curious.
Healthy raccoons have been observed in the daytime, such as mothers looking for food. That is not a reliable indication of rabies.
'an indication rabies may be a possibility' - I stand by this - if you see raccoons out in daylight, be careful, it is an indication rabies may be in play.
