Inter and Slavia Prague’s matches in the Champions League group stages will be Chinese derbies of sorts according to a report from Tuttosport.

Both clubs are owned by Chinese companies with Inter owned by e-commerce giants Suning and Slavia Prague owned by real estate company Sinobo.

Inter have been under Chinese ownership since 2016 and Suning have invested significant amounts of money into the club whilst also bringing in a lot of money through both domestic and international sponsorships.

Slavia Prague have meanwhile been under Chinese control since back in 2015 although not always by their current owners. The CEFC Energy Group took charge back in 2015 and invested a sum of €35 million alone into renovating the stadium.

Another Chinese group then purchased the controlling stake in 2017 before Sinobo swooped in to take majority control in November 2018 and have made their presence known by renaming the stadium the Sinobo Stadium.
