President Buhari in closed door meeting today with security chiefs over bloody Shi’ites protests

President Buhari in closed door meeting today with security chiefs over bloody Shi?ites protests

President  Buhari this afternoon entered a closed door meeting with security chiefs over the repeated bloody Shiites protests in Abuja. The meeting which started at about 4pm, had in attendance the Inspector General of Police Adamu Mohammed and the service chiefs.

Earlier today, President Buhari summoned the IGP to his office where he gave the police chief a matching order to ensure the protection and safety of all Nigerians.

Adamu who spoke with journalists at the end of the meeting early this morning, said

“We came this morning to brief Mr. President on the security situation in the country, especially the activities of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN). Just to give him an update of what is happening in the country vis a vis their activities.

“Specifically we briefed him of the incessant act coming out of this group of people, protesting here and there. We briefed him on the fact that we have been able to curtail their excesses and to let him understand that everything is under control.

The president asked us to make sure we provide security for every citizen of this country and not to leave any space that some group of people will create breakdown of law and order.  So, the charge by Mr. President is that we must provide security for every Nigerian.”

Who are these Shiites and why are their protests bloody? If they are a peaceful sect, won't they wait for the government and keep protesting peacefully until their needs are met? They may be a sect of Islam the guys in power do not like, but their outbursts say a lot about them as well....there may be things about them that a non-Moslem may not know that scare the guys in power - may also just be religious hatred

The only thing that "scares" the Sunnis is their level of unmeasured hatred for Shiites. These people where minding theor business until this Sunni led, anti-everyone not sunni or Fulani came into power. This government came uo with a scheme, murdered 350 of the Shiites in one night while they slept, inprisoned El-ZakZaky after killing his sons, even when the courts said he should be released on bail, Buhari and his sunni led Fulani only administration still ignored. has security under buhari has been creating one chaos after another. this man will be the end of this country.

Thanks to those of you that have shown interest to fast and pray for the peace and prosperity of Nigeria the last Saturday 6am – 6pm of July 22, 2019. 36 is the number of states in Nigeria, hopefully each person will mark at least a state. I will be focusing on ABUJA, and Sambisa in Borno state, the Boko Haram territory. As you fast take the book of Jonah, read the 4 chapters with concentration on chapter 1 verses 5-6; 9-16. Pray that whatever or whosever that has contributed or is contributing and is responsible in making Nigeria unconducive and difficult to live be picked and thrown into the sea and never rise again. Don’t call names. Just fast and pray and the Lord our God, Jesus will do as He pleases. Watch out afterwards. Jesus has never failed!!!! May the Lord reign in Nigeria; may He show favor to Nigeria and restore peace and prosper everyone in Jesus great name!

@ VicM are you not aware they've been protesting for more than 3 years about the wrongful detention of the leader against several court orders??!! Where is your disgust about Buhari ignoring court orders which he obeys it within hours when it is manipulated to suit an agenda! Finally I leave you with these words, may you be quiet as your enemy is "strangulating you and at the same time telling you to be cooperative and quiet bc he doesn't want a torn shirt from your struggles".

Simple solution :obey the order of the courts and release Sheik Zakyzaky. Why does this President have a problem with obeying Court rulings?

The President can be so fast and smooth in reacting to the Shite's demonstration whose leader he had unlawfully kept in prison all this long, but he remain slothful and unconcerned about the menace of the fulani herdsmen who are criminally carrying arms and unleashing havoc to innocent people. This is the extent of wickedness on the part of the president of the Fulanis called Buhari. Afterall what is the offence of the Shites? it is basically personal issues and he is using government might to deal with someone he has personal issues with.
