Here we go! Whether Yeshua or Jesus what difference does it make? Christ was called different names in the bible depending on the setting. I think Reno should better qualify what he is saying without causing confusion. Too much confusion has been spread through this straight forward message. The formal name of the messiah is Yahushua. Yahushua is exactly what we read about in the book of Joshua (in english), it is Yahushua. At the time of the building of Zerubbabel's temple, the name Yahushua was shortened to Yeshua, meaning 'Yah' is our salvation ('shua'). This was at the time of the second temple. By the time we get to the Hebrew Mathew, Angel Gabriel was talking to Mary (Mariam) saying 'you should call his name 'Yeshua', for he will save his people from their sins'. The angel did not say he should be called Yahushua, which is the former version of his name, he didn't say Yahshua, which is 'Yah is our Yeshua' but said he should be called 'Yeshua'. That is exactly what he said in ancient Hebrew Mathew. However, we call him Jesus today because we are an english speaking people. The english version of Yeshua is Jesus, the same way the arabic version is 'Isa' or 'Iesa', the Chinese mandarin version is Yēsū, the Greek version is Iisoús and so on. Changing the language of a word does not affect the meaning of the word. Just like William Shakespear said, 'That which we call rose, by any other name, will smell as sweet'. Let us bear this in mind and not divide ourselves with unnecessary arguments. At the end of the day, he is the way, the truth and the life. May God bless us all.

It is more than language , their is a lot of thing you Nigerians are naive about . For instances Sunday is not the sabbath day , it’s a day to worship the pagan god of Rome , December 25 wasn’t the birth of Yeshua , nobody knows but most believe it is in Jan / Feb , Yeshua is a black man with a short hair and Israelites you see today are not the true Israelite those folks are Europeans . You don't have to translate your native name to English version before you apply for visa. So to me I see no reason why the name should be changed; only the bearer of the name can decide to...

Our God is not so petty that he will reject someone for using the wrong name. If you call him Jesus, he knows who you're talking about. If you call him Yeshua, he knows- you guys should stop all these. Language has changed overtime- pronunciation changes too- Americans, British, Australians, Canadians all speak English- but all have different spellings and pronunciation of certain words. Placing so much emphasis on how His name should be spelt or pronounced is unprofitable. The one who you are calling, knows who you are referring to!

The ONLY way to salvation and Yahweh is Yahshua. The name means - Yahweh will save His people. Any other name you accept will OBVIOUSLY take you to where you won't like. The book of Acts Chapter 4, verse 12 say and I qoute - Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other Name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. The choice is yours. Decide where you want to go but don't turn The Holy Scriptures upsidedown.

Let me try to explain this- Yeshua (Hebrew) was translated to Jesus (English)- It's like saying a Yoruba person that bears Ibukun or Oreofe migrates to 'the abroad' and they start to call him/her "Blessing or Grace". They mean the same thing! Yeshua understands and knows you are referring to him when you call him "Jesus!", just like Mr Ibukun will answer you when you call him Blessing. Please, let's be bright!

They forget that between the translations from Hebrew to English there was a translation into Latin which is a major influence on modern day languages. So it doesn’t matter if you are saying the words Yeshua or Jesus as long as you recognise it is the son of God you are speaking about there’s no problem. Everyone should move on.
