From a vest made of playing cards to life-size dolls' clothing, Sotheby's Paris is about to make all your vintage Margiela dreams come true

Die hard Martin Margiela fans—and lovers of vintage fashion in general—will be thrilled to know that Sotheby's Paris will hold an exhibition and online auction dedicated to Martin Margiela this fall.

Between September 19 and October 1, nearly 220 items of clothing and accessories from a private collection will go under the hammer, including a men’s vest from Maison Martin Margiela’s artisanal collection, assembled entirely from playing cards. It is one of only five of its kind, and is estimated to fetch up to €10,000 (approximately HK$87,500).

Also up for grabs is a long duvet coat with removable sleeves from 1999 and dolls' clothing enlarged to human scale from the Fall/Winter 1994-1995 collection. Keen to collect, or simply want to see these iconic fashion pieces in the flesh? The collection will be on show from September 20-25, coinciding with Paris Fashion Week.
