Drama as lawmaker is kicked out of Parliament for bringing her baby to the chambers (video)

A Kenyan lawmaker was kicked out of the Parliament for binging her baby to the chambers.

Kwale woman Representative, Zulekha Hassan was on Wednesday, August 7, ordered out of the National Assembly for disrupting a parliamentary session.

Speaker of the National Assembly Hon. Chris Omulele, MP Luanda described her move as unprecedented, and then ordered her out of the chambers.

According to the lawmaker,  she had an emergency that was why she came to parliament with the baby and suggested that a mother’s room be put in place to curb such situations.

Speaking after she was evicted, Zulekha said: “I have tried really hard not to come with the baby, but today, I had an emergency, what was I supposed to do? Miss parliament? That’s why I just came with her. I knew I would be staying here just for a while and later when my situation is better, I would go. But if there was a room or a creche or nursery, I would then be able to put my baby there.”

According to the Standing Orders of the National Assembly, strangers are not allowed into the House, including children.

Don’t blackmail the lawmakers with the innocence baby, they all have babies at home too. Some women are good event planners for pity party.

I mean, a creche for serving lawmakers is something that should be seriously considered. Its not rocket science! They should simply secure a room within the building, put baby friendly rugs, toys and air-conditioning. Maybe a chair or two for the crèche supervisors. What is the big deal here. Please Africa needs to advance abeg. Tired of seeing backward news.

You born baby. That's your problem. She is not the first lawmaker with a baby ever. They don't need creche. If a poor worker in a bank can afford a babysitter, so she can.

She think she's in New Zealand where those petty behavior are allowed. Keep your baby at home, chamber is not baby nursing.

Babies are joys of the world, but is their Hallow chamber an extended nanny? Even teachers send there babies to nursery / preschool. Some women always making it look like babies are burden

she is contridicting herself, you put work before your baby, yet you expect parliament to put the session before you, if you really had challenges, taking one day off for your child wont crumble the nation. Madam stop putting your foot in your mouth please. QUOTE ''WHY SHOULD I MISS WORK BECAUSE OF A BABY''

When she works as a cashier in the bank, she should take her baby bc na only her get baby. Nonsense woman. In the midst of serious debate and the baby starts crying, can she concentrate? There is a place and time for everything. I am sure she can afford a babysitter.
