You can probably stick a fork in the Flyers’ season.

The Capitals dominated the first period with an 11-5 shots advantage and a 2-0 lead en route to a 5-2 win over Philadelphia. In his first start back, Carter Hart stopped 27 shots. James van Riemsdyk and Scott Laughton all scored. Laughton extended his point-streak to six games.

But the slow start doomed the Flyers and it may have doomed them for a potential playoff run. Let’s check out the Wild Card standings:

The Eagles officially introduced DeSean Jackson back to Philadelphia and the wide receiver signed a three-year contract extension through 2021. Jackson’s also getting his #10 jersey back from Mack Hollins.

The Eagles also signed linebacker and special teams guy L.J. Fort to a deal.

Former wide receivers Golden Tate and Jordan Matthews signed with the Giants and 49ers respectively.

  • La Salle’s season is over as the Explorers fell to Rhode Island 76-57 in the A-10 Tournament.

In other sports news, Tottenham and Man City will face each other in a Champions League quarterfinal.
