Inter manager Antonio Conte really wishes to try and dethrone Juventus this season according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

Juventus have reigned supreme over Italian football for the past seven years as they have won every Serie A title and Conte is determined to give it his best shot at putting an end to their winning run.

In order to do this, Conte wants several players brought in and has targeted players that know his ways in order to make their transition to Inter as smooth as possible.

He wants a new full back brought in and it looks like it will be one of Leonardo Spinazzola and Ashley Young after Chelsea priced Inter out of a move for Conte’s number one target for this position, Marcos Alonso. Neither Spinazzola nor Young have worked with Conte but are both vastly experienced players.

Conte’s number one target overall for this window was Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal, who he worked with at Juventus. Barcelona however were reluctant to let the player leave which forced Inter to look elsewhere and they have set their sights on Spurs’ Christian Eriksen.

For the attack, Conte wants Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud to be brought in to act as the back-up to club record signing Romelu Lukaku, who has 18 goals in 25 appearances across all competitions.
