New Zealand Mourns Victims of Mosque Attacks
Across the country, New Zealanders gathered in support of the nation’s Muslims and to remember the victims of the attacks in Christchurch.
“Despite what happened on Friday, we are a loving country who accept everyone and it doesn’t define who we are.” “We’re not going to allow a few fanatics to divide our community. We’re one. If anything, we’re going to come closer to one another. And we’re going to recognize that there is no difference between black or white, Christian or Muslim or Jew.” “The very, very important role of returning the victims of this horrendous incident to their loved ones will commence this evening, and hopefully will be completed by Wednesday.” “We, the New Zealand police, will do everything we can to support our wider community, and in particular, our Muslim communities. Inshallah.”
