WWE SmackDown Live ratings (Nov. 27, 2018): Sweep this

arabic.WWE.com

The return of The Man, a bad Raw and some other holiday week factors brought the blue brand closer to eclipsing its Monday night counterpart. SmackDown’s audience was 2,264,000 people on Nov. 27 - only a roughly 4% drop off from the red brand’s 2.37 million average the night before.

It was also an increase of more than 100K viewers from SmackDown’s Nov. 20 broadcast. Despite being tenth among cable originals on the night (behind History Channel’s Curse of Oak Island, and the usual array of MSNBC & Fox News political talk), WWE’s numbers on Tuesday did benefit from a lot of reruns on the broadcast networks, as CBS and the like phoned it in on the post-holiday week.

It’s in the ratings numbers where things get interesting. SmackDown won the night with a big increase from the week prior, clocking in with a best on cable .81 share of the overall 18 - 49 demographic. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that not only did a significantly greater number of women in that age range watch SmackDown over Raw (38.4%), but Monday night’s huge third hour drop off consisted of mostly young women tuning out.

Dave Meltzer speculates it was perhaps Drake “Piss Pants” Maverick which turned them off, but the big audience decline also occurred after the trainwreck Nia Jax/Ronda Rousey promo segment. So if you were tuning in hoping for the kind of trash talk and banter the top of the SmackDown women’s card delivers and saw that... you might be disappointed and decide to call it a night.

While we all stew on these figures and what could be behind them, here’s a list of SmackDown’s numbers from the past six months to marinate in as well:
