Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday donated Rs 1,000 to the BJP through the NaMo app, and urged people to contribute to the party and strengthen the resolve of party workers to “serve the nation”.
“Contributed to the BJP, via the ‘Narendra Modi Mobile App’. I urge you all to contribute to the party through the app and spread the message of transparency in public life,” he tweeted. “You can contribute any amount from Rs 5 to Rs 1000 via the ‘Narendra Modi Mobile App’. ..“

Various party leaders made similar donations. Donating Rs 1,000 and posting the receipt on Twitter, BJP president Amit Shah tweeted, “…The BJP has started an initiative of seeking micro donations from our karyakartas and well wishers through the NaMo app. You can donate any amount between Rs 5 and Rs 1,000.”
