Inter intend to honour the promise they gave to Manchester United captain Ashley Young earlier this month according to a report on the website of transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla.

Inter told Young that they want to bring him to the club and even agreed terms with him but a move for him was put on the backburner when it became apparent Inter could acquire Leonardo Spinazzola in a swap deal with Roma.

However, the deal for Spinazzola appears set to collapse with Roma furious with Inter for trying to change the transfer formula, seemingly due to them having concerns about his injury record.

During Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio’s trip to London yesterday to hold talks with Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea over Christian Eriksen and Olivier Giroud respectively, he also made contact with Young’s representatives.

This season Young, who is out of contract at the end of this campaign, has made 18 appearances across all competitions. In 1313 minutes, he has one goal and one assist.
