A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport has looked at the current situation of Inter owned striker Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa.

The report details how the 23-year-old Brazilian striker is currently on vacation in his native country, following on from a long and successful season with Flamengo. The Brazilian club have offered him a €3.5 net salary, despite his request of €4 million.

However, the distance isn’t too big and there is now confidence that a deal will close soon. Flamengo are set to give Inter €18 million plus a percentage on a future resale for Gabigol’s signature, the report continues.

Conveniently for the Nerazzurri, the fee that the Brazilian club will pay for the 23-year-old Brazilian striker is close to the amount that Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur want for Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen.

This would allow the Nerazzurri to immediately reinvest the money earnt from Gabigol’s sale.
