Former Super Eagles player and coach Samson is counting on well-meaning Nigerians to help him raise a sum of €250,000 to appeal FIFA ban.

The 52-year-old was handed a life ban from all football activities by the world governing body after being following a match-fixing allegation levied against him last August.

Siasia who won Olympics bronze medals in 2008 and 2016 was said to have been found guilty of receiving a bribe to manipulate the outcomes of matches.

In a statement released by the FIFA ethics committee, the former Nigerian star was said to have been involved with Singaporean match-fixing syndicate Wilson Raj Perumal after an extended investigation was carried out.

However, Siasia has begged Nigerians to come to his aid to raise the money required for the defence of his case.

"I'm coming to you at a very difficult time of my life and career, I need to raise a sun of 250 thousand euros. that is a lot of money. he said in a short video clip on Instagram.

"So I am appealing to all well-meaning Nigerians, the sports-loving Nigerians can come to my aid, for me to use these funds to defend myself against FIFA.

"We have this calculation, if 200,000 people can donate five hundred naira, I think we will be able to reach our target. I want to thank you as you do this.

This Day reports. Recently, the former Super Eagles coach was banned for life by FIFA, after the world football governing body found him guilty to have collected bribe.

Siasia has tried to get the appeal money from friends and associates since he was banned from football, but the $250,000 looks like a difficult task for him to raise.
