The Outsiders star Rob Lowe, 54, had just wrapped up filming on an episode of The West Wing. Due to his busy schedule, he was commuting a lot those days and took cross-country flights regularly. Days before 9/11, the actor flew home, like normal. "There was nothing that stood out," Lowe said of the flight. That afternoon, he landed safely and forgot all about the uneventful flight, until about a year later, he received a notice in the mail stating that psychotic 9/11 mastermind, Zacarias Moussaoui, wanted him to be part of the deposition at his trial. Lowe thought someone was playing a practical joke on him, but he contacted his lawyer just to be sure. Soon, the attorney got back to him, telling the actor that he had been on a flight with several of the men who planned the deadly September 11 terrorist attacks. "I flew with the 9/11 hijackers. I was on a dry run on the one that went into the Pentagon, and I knew the crew," he told reporters after the shocking revelation.

Later I would realize it was the impact of the first plane."
