Ivanka Trump self-isolated at home on Friday, not going into the White House, after she was photographed with Australian Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton days before he tested positive for coronavirus.

The White House said Dutton was 'asymptomatic' during his interaction with the first daughter and Ivanka Trump, who serves as an adviser to President Donald Trump, is showing no symptoms, doesn't need to self-quarantine and stayed home out of an abundance of caution.

'The White House is aware that Mr. Dutton tested positive for COVID-19. He was asymptomatic during the interaction. Exposures from the case were assessed and the White House Medical Unit confirmed, in accordance with CDC guidance, that Ivanka is exhibiting no symptoms and does not need to self-quarantine. She worked from home today out of an abundance of caution until guidance was given,' White House Deputy press secretary Judd Deere said in a statement.

The statement did not say if the first daughter had been tested for the disease.

Ivanka Trump, Attorney General Bill Barr, and Dutton were photographed together on March 5 as part of a meeting between officials from the UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the US.

The next day, she attended an event at Mar-a-Lago with her father and Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro, the same day that one of Bolsonaro's aides tested positive for the virus.

Barr also stayed home Friday from the Justice Department.

The attorney general 'felt great and wasn't showing any symptoms,' his spokeswoman Kerri Kupec told the AP. She said the CDC did not recommend testing at this point.

Senator Lindsey Graham has self-quarantined because he was at Mar-a-Lago at the same time as the infected aide Fabio Wajngarten. His office on Friday said he also met with Dutton on March 5 in his Senate office.

Dutton confirmed on Friday morning, March 13 - a week after their meeting - that he had tested positive after returning to Australia.

He has since been being treated in the hospital and the severity of his condition remains unknown. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is in isolation after his wife tested positive.

Trump has not addressed whether or not he has been tested since spending time with Bolsonaro.

The White House said earlier this week that he had not.

As of Friday morning, there were more than 1,700 cases of coronavirus in the US and 41 people had died from it.

The government has predicted that as many as 150million Americans will eventually become infected.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the White House coronavirus expert, said on Friday morning in an interview on 'Good Morning America' that he did not want to comment on Trump's condition or whether or not he should get a test.

He said that if it were him, however, he likely would.

'I leave that to the president's White House physician who is an extremely competent individual who I know well, and the decisions there were between what would be a potential patient and the physician,' he said.

'Likely I would, but I'm not sure. It depends on the circumstances. We should follow the guidelines of the CDC about when you are at a risk what you should do,' he added.

Fauci went on to say that the current state of crisis could last for up to eight weeks.
