Jurgen Klopp has sent a Champions League SOS to Liverpool fans ahead of their Napoli showdown urging: ‘Make Anfield a bearpit.’

And Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti is already wary of the goal threat of back-in-form Mohamed Salah.

The Reds need to win by a two-goal margin on Tuesday to make certain of a place in the knockout stages, and Klopp wants another of the club’s legendary home atmospheres similar to those for wins over Roma, Olympiakos, Auxerre and Manchester City.

Napoli, currently second in Serie A behind perennial champions Juventus, beat Liverpool 1-0 in the reverse fixture two months ago.

Klopp said: “First of all, we were not good there, so we would like to show that we are better than in Napoli.

“So again, we have to ask for 'Anfield'. We should call Anfield, because they have to help us.”

Salah hit a hat-trick on Saturday as Liverpool won 4-0 at Bournemouth to go top of the Premier League.

They became the only unbeaten side left in this season's top flight when Man City lost to Chelsea later in the day.

But Klopp warned his men they will have to raise their game even further if they want to progress to the knockout stages of European football’s elite competition.

He added: “We have to earn it. In the home games so far, we were quite impressive in both we played.

“This is our last one and I don’t think Napoli thinks ‘it’s only Liverpool’, so they know as well it will be a tough one. But they are strong and we need to be strong.”

Asked about Salah’s hat-trick at the Vitality Stadium, former Chelsea boss Ancelotti said: “Hopefully he got them all out of his system and will run dry next week!”
