For Michelle, 34, and Jason, 35, having a weed-themed wedding was a no-brainer.

They’re not big drinkers, and would much rather light a blunt together than clink champagne glasses.

‘We smoke right before we do anything,’ Michelle told Metro.co.uk. ‘The strain will depend on the activity but we feel cannabis enhances the experience.’

Michelle also runs bakery Babinka Treats, which regularly teams up with weed suppliers and events to collaborate, making kush edibles or regular treats to save people from the munchies.

So going weed-themed made sense.

The couple met in a bike shop years ago, then Jason popped the question under the lights at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

‘He told me he had set up a photoshoot for our anniversary,’ says Michelle. ‘But then he got down on one knee and popped the question.

‘All of a sudden all of my best friends came out of hiding and surprised me. They had all been planning this together for months.’

When the big day rolled around, Michelle and Jason made sure to make weed a running thread.

They had a canna-cake infused with THC and topped with leaves, a budtender serving up dabs and massive rolled blunts for guests, and strawberries dipped in weed-infused chocolate.

Michelle’s bouquet and Jason’s boutonniere incorporated leaves and buds, and Michelle even had a tiny sprig placed on her nail for her manicure.

The day was captured by Michelle’s friend, photographer Alanna You, who managed to snap the bride smoking in her wedding dress and slicing into her canna-cake.

The wedding was magical – and not just because everyone was baked.

‘My favorite moment was the walk down the aisle,’ says Michelle. ‘All I could see was Jason.

‘It’s the way he looked at me that makes it my favourite moment. It was like a movie.

‘The whole wedding was special because everyone that helped curate the wedding was a friend so they all put their heart into it.

‘It made us feel very special knowing we have that many people who care.’
