Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich failed to score in their first loss of the season at the hands of Hertha Berlin.

Bayern Munich fell behind after conceding a penalty due to a clumsy Jerome Boateng challenge on Salomon Kalou, Vedad Ibisevic cooly converted the spot kick, sending Manuel Neuer the wrong way for his fifth goal of the season.

Ondrej Duda got Hertha Berlin’s second goal, stroking home from close range, following some nice moves.

Bayern pushed to get back in the game but were profligate in front of goal with Renato Sanchez and David Alaba both striking wide.

Apart from the loss, another worry for Bayern Munich is the frosty exchange that occurred between Arjen Robben and the coach Niko Kovac on the touchline, with the Dutch winger expressing his displeasure at being substituted.

Hertha Berlin are now level on points with Bayern Munich at the summit of the league standings but are second due to inferior goal difference.

Bayern Munich will face Ajax in the UCL on Tuesday before hosting Borussia Monchengladbach next Saturday.
