A Bengaluru-based businessman on Sunday fired gunshots in the air during a scuffle with his neighbour over parking spot outside his house.

A Bengaluru-based businessman on Sunday fired gunshots in the air during a scuffle with his neighbour over parking spot outside his house. Forty-four-year-old Sanjeev Saxena got into an argument with his neighbour Ravikumar and allegedly opened fire in the air to send out a message.

Police said Saxena and Ravikumar often collide over parking spot. Ravikumar on Sunday parked his car in front of Saxena's house. An irked Saxena in an argument with Ravikumar who tried to snatch a gold chain from the former.

Saxena then got his licensed service revolver and fired gunshots.

Tensed neighbours immediately alerted the police who rushed to the spot to calm the situation. Upon receiving complaints, both Ravikumar and Saxena were arrested the same night.

"Saxena claimed to have used the revolver because no one came out to his support during the fight. We immediately booked a case and have arrested both," police said.

A court on Monday sent both accused to a 14-day judicial custody. Ravikumar was booked for robbery while Saxena was booked under Arms Act and for attempt to murder.
