Congresswoman Cheri Bustos and Senators Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth announced that the Quad City International Airport received $2,214,738 in grant funding from the Department of Transportation.

These funds will be used to reconstruct lighting systems on both Runway 13/31 as well as six Taxiways to enhance safe airfield operations during low visibility conditions.

Earlier this month, Congresswoman Bustos joined Senators Durbin and Duckworth in announcing funding to expand the service road at the Quad City International Airport. Similarly, last September, the three secured funding that went towards rehabilitating lighting systems for Runway 9/27 and Taxiway H. In order to ensure our state’s infrastructure is up to date and local businesses remain competitive in the regional economy, Congresswoman Bustos and Senators Durbin and Duckworth have continually supported investment in local airports across central and northwestern Illinois.
