Bros mania hit Bournemouth in 1988 in a big way. October saw more than 500 frantic fans queued outside the BIC to purchase one of the 3,500 tickets selling at £8.50 each.
At the time staff at the BIC reported that it was one of the longest queues they had had for one show.
This should have prepared everyone for the hysteria that would define the concert in December.
The crowd were already worked up into a frenzy by the warm-up DJ, the actual arrival of the Goss brothers on stage was more than they could stand.
Security staff and the St John Ambulance volunteers helped to care for the Brosettes who were fainting in their droves. Bros made a second appearance the following January.
