Cody vs. Aldis is (finally) official, and ALL IN has a theme song

You may have assumed that Cody Rhodes was always going to face Nick Aldis for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship at ALL IN on Sept. 1 in Chicago. I know I did, especially after Aldis defeated Flip Gordon.

But it wasn’t official until “The Dealer” said it was, so...

Aldis has agreed to the match because Cody put his “Ring of Honor” up as collateral. Meaning that if Nick wins in Sears Centre and then Rhodes reclaim the ROH World Championship in the future, he owes The Brit that belt, I guess?

It’s kind of confusing, and honestly a pretty underwhelming conclusion to one of ALL IN’s few angles. But it’s delivered in the usual excellently produced Ten Pounds of Gold package from the NWA, and manages to add some nice heat with Rhodes closing taunt regarding who the champ beat to get his strap:

“While I was beating Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi, all you did was beat a 53 year old history teacher for that title!”

The video also gives us our first taste of Downstait’s official theme song for Cody and The Young Buck’s event, appropriately titled “All In”.
