Juventus are preparing to make their move for Mauro Icardi in the final two weeks of August, Tuttosport reported this morning.

The Bianconeri remain the clear favourites to sign Inter’s former captain and are staying in contact with the forward’s entourage in the meantime.

Napoli represent the Old Lady’s only competition in Italy, but they would have to complete a big sale before making Inter an offer.

“The feeling is that, unless another club arrives and snatches Icardi away with a big offer, everything is in place for Juventus to sign Icardi in the week after Ferragosto (15 August),” the paper reported.

Juventus may also need to complete some sales before moving for Icardi, with Gonzalo Higuain and Mario Mandzukic currently occupying two spots in their forward department.

“They’ll need a lot of patience and they need to hope no surprises arrive from clubs abroad,” the Turin-based publication concluded.

Icardi has been excluded from Inter’s preseason tour of Asia and will train alone at Appiano Gentile until they return to Milan.
