Add nicotine to VG base?

I hope someone can help me out here

I have a 100ml 100%VG base and a couple of 10ml 18mg VG nicotine.

How many of them should I add in the 100ml VG base to get 6mg nicotine?

im guessing it would be the same as if it was 100ml of ready mixed juice so 4 nic shots would make it 140ml at 6mg

You'd need to use 5 of your 10ml 18mg nic bottles to add to 100ml of plain VG to give you 150ml of 6mg strength @hilfiger. Or, if you literally only have a couple of the nic shots, each one can be added to 20ml of plain VG to give 30ml of 6mg.

Edit to explain why: your nic shots need to make up a third of the final liquid as 18/3 = 6

5 has stumped me a bit @cindy99
for 3mg in 100ml its 2 nic shots so i thought 4 would have made it 6mg
but you could well be right as im new to the mixing lark.

The guy in the shop told me to add 3 bottles of 18mg. Then you will have 130ml VG with 6mg Nicotine.

Cindy is correct. If you start off with 100ml, you need to add 50ml of 18mg nic shots to make it up to 6mg.

Folks, maybe think of it like this.

1 10ml nic-shot + 10ml of base is dividing your 18mg nic into 2, giving you 9mg. Equal amounts of base and nic.
1 10ml nic-shot + 20ml of base is dividing your 18mg nic into 3, giving you 6mg. Twice as much base as nic.
1 10ml nic-shot + 30ml of base is dividing your 18mg nic into 4, giving you 4.5mg. Three times as much base as nic.
1 10ml nic-shot + 40ml of base is dividing your 18mg nic into 5, giving you 3.6mg. Four times as much base as nic.
1 10ml nic-shot + 50ml of base is dividing your 18mg nic into 6, giving you 3mg. Five times as much base as nic.

So, for any mix to result in 6mg nic, using 18mg nic, you need twice as much base as nic.

But it doesn't work like that, as the important thing is the final volume and the percentage of it that is nicotine. If it worked as you say then your method would mean you could add 12 bottles of 18mg nic to 100ml to get 220ml of 18mg nic base! But you can never get 18mg nic if you add it to anything, as you are *diluting* it. The higher the nic content you require, the more you dilute it as you go....
