Can anyone recommend any decent DIY scales. Ideally 500g capacity and obviously need the 0.01g accuracy for DIY.

I've got some 200g capacity ones working great but they're no good for bigger batches.

Tried an ebay scale from another thread and it doesn’t seem accurate at all. On my 200g scale if i add an extra drop of conc it'll generally increase 0.02 to 0.03g but these ones don't budge. Fuck knows how my most recent concoctions will turn out!

TL;DR Anyone using a 500g capacity scale they can recommend?

The Envy NV500 is very good and is the choice of most mixers.

Cream Supplies usually has it well priced, but Google it to see if you can find it cheaper.

Thanks, I'll look into maybe trying these after payday if I can't get these ones working better.

I think these are the ones I bought, might have a go calibrating them. Instructions say they're ready from the box but won't hurt to try.

Search amazon for digital kitchen scale. More at seem to do 5kg at 0.01. Salter is a popular brand.

FWIW I have the ones that MrDJ mentioned above and have found that they don't register anything between 0.00 and 0.06 or 0.08. I just put a larger ingredient in first and then count up without zeroing out for smaller weights.

Don't worry about 0.01g when making DIY, my scales are only 0.1 and I survived, you really won't notice the difference between 0.01g and 0.1g. got mine for five quid off eBay and 1000g,tested them with coins and they are spot on.

I have to disagree, especially when making small batches for recipe development and flavour testing. If you're only mixing bottle shots or large batches you might get away with it but for 5/10-30ml you'll notice the difference with the extra accuracy.

Yeah fair point I suppose complex mixes with multi ingredients would need more accuracy at small amounts, i am too lazy to care now, I started off wanting to be all accurate and was enthusiastic then have just got apathetic and lazy to it as time has gone on, mainly using one shot concentrates now.
