How is it already the end of August? Everyone is excitedly gearing up for Fall while were still in the 100s in Texas with no sign of relief. And I feel like all I’ve been doing is ordering ALL the sweaters, cardigans and everything cozy related. 😫 The sad thing is, us Texan’s probably won’t be getting any Fall temps anytime soon. I was telling someone on Instagram that I own way more Fall clothes than summer clothes at this point. Probably because I stock up, never wear half of it so I just save it thinking I’ll wear it next season and then just buy more the next season. It’s just a vicious cycle! I guess these warm temps aren’t that bad… They give me an excuse to keep sharing super cute summer looks for the next couple of months! Like this gorgeous white lace dress from Chicwish.

I feel like this is a no brainer type dress to talk about. I’ve been posting so many white dresses I feel like I’m running out of things to talk about! Since I am posting this on the cusp of Fall I wanted to give some helpful tips on how to transition this into cooler temps. By now, I would hope most of my readers know that the no white after Labor Day rule has gone out the window. Wearing white year round is ok and encouraged!

Most people obviously won’t be wearing a sleeveless white lace dress during Fall so here are a few tips on how to transition any of your white dresses into the colder months.

• Invest in a leather jacket. This is a piece that will never go out of style and something you will wear more than you know. Trust me. I would wear a lighter color with this dress such as a nude or even one of the suede BlankNYC moto jackets.
• Find an amazing denim jacket. I personally don’t own a denim jacket but my style is pretty different than most. 99% of the girls I know love their denim jackets. So find one that fits you really well and throw that over any of your Spring and Summer dresses.
• OTK boots (over-the-knee) boots are your best friend. Go with a nude or a grey suede pair to wear with white. Black boots with a black jacket might contrast too much for most people. If you don’t mind, then throw on a pair of black OTKs! From a stylists perspective, I feel that a lighter hue would be best with white.
• This might be a little out there for most, but if you like layering and creating fun looks then throw on a solid cropped or fitted sweater over the dress. I wouldn’t suggest wearing any prints or anything with distressing as it would be too distracting with the lace overlay on the dress.

This white lace dress does run a little big so I would recommend sizing down if you are in between sizes. It’s the first dress that I have bought from Chicwish that actually ran a little on the larger side. I am normally a small but should have probably ordered the XS. This dress ran large in the waist as well as the bust area so it wasn’t as fitted as I would normally have liked it. It is fully lined with a gorgeous lace overlay and it also has a beautiful bow detail at the neck. I don’t think I shot that part of the dress but it shows on the product page online.
