Kevin Owens said someone other than Sami Zayn is his best friend, and we don’t know what to believe anymore

WWE.com

I’m not worried about any kayfabe-busting being done on Mrs. Steen’s Instagram. In the story being told on Raw, I can easily convince myself Kevin Owens needs a nice vacation, and several hours in a jacuzzi, after the last few months of running for his life from Braun Strowman. In reality, live your best life KO. I ain’t mad atcha.

But this? My heart is broken. Both of them - my work and shoot hearts.

In a pre-SummerSlam interview with Chuck Carroll for CBS Los Angeles (meaning Owens’ character didn’t know he was going to quit yet, so it wasn’t breaking kayfabe to talk about future matches), KO said he wanted to face his best friend at WrestleMania. If you’re like me, you probably thought, “He must mean one-on-one, since he already faced Sami Zayn in the ladder match at WrestleMania 32.”

BUT NO!

“There’s so many guys I wish I could wrestle, but if it was up to me, whatever I would do would lead to me and Finn Bálor at WrestleMania next year, because he and I came to WWE the exact same time. We didn’t know each other before we got there. We became pretty close pretty quickly when we did get to the NXT Performance Center. He’s been my best friend ever since, so I’d love to share the ring with him on that stage in WrestleMania.”

First Colt Cabana and CM Punk, now this.

Wrestling will break your heart, Cagesiders. All of them.
