UPDATE: Arturo Vidal to Barcelona is a done deal

In the past couple of weeks, we’ve heard it all; Arturo Vidal to Inter Milan, Arturo Vidal to Barcleona, Arturo Vidal to Chelsea or Manchester United, or Arturo Vidal to stay with Bayern Munich. Now, the latest reports out of Europe suggest that a move to Barcelona is pretty much set in stone for the Chilean and that terms have already been agreed. Fabrizio Romano of Sky Sports and The Guardian has already taken to his Twitter account to report the news as well as Sky Italy’s Gianluca Di Marzio:

Sport (Spain) has also reported that Vidal looks set to travel to the Catalans within the next 48-72 hours to complete a medical, which would ultimately finalize the move. Per the report, the fee that’s [supposedly] been agreed upon by both clubs is roughly €30m, €7.5m cheaper than Bayern Munich paid to sign him from Juventus back in 2015. For a club with the financial flexibility like Barcelona, €30m could be considered a bargain for a player of Vidal’s caliber. The Chilean, however, isn’t getting any younger, and Bayern has a loaded midfield with the likes of Thiago Alcantara, Leon Goretzka, Corentin Tolisso, Javi Martinez, and Sebastian Rudy (if he doesn’t, in fact, move to RB Leipzig).

UPDATE: The Guardian have reported that the deal is now done. The first paragraph of the report reads:

Barcelona have completed the signing of Arturo Vidal from Bayern Munich after agreeing personal terms with the Chile midfielder over a £27m transfer.

The 31-year old will leave Bayern after three seasons, collecting three Bundesliga titles and a DFB-Pokal with Die Roten, scoring 22 goals and providing 18 assists in 124 appearances across competitions along the way.
