Bayern Munich are planning to sign Ivan Perisic on a permanent deal once the Inter winger’s loan deal expires, according to FcInterNews.it.
The Bundesliga champions have paid €5 million to bring in the Croatian and would need to invest another €20 million to keep him next summer.
Arsenal, Monaco and Sevilla all expressed an interest in Perisic but Bayern were the only club who promised they wanted to retain him in future years.
Perisic will sign a two-year deal with an option for a third if he earns a permanent move to Bavaria, having scored 40 goals in 162 appearances for Inter since 2015.
The 2018 World Cup finalist has chosen to revert to shirt no. 14 after wearing that number in his first Bundesliga spell with Borussia Dortmund.
Bayern’s head coach Niko Kovac knows the 30-year-old well and is said to have played a pivotal role in winning Perisic’s resistance.
Inter had no use for Perisic this season after Antonio Conte decided to use a 3-5-2 system and declared him unsuited to the left wing-back position.
Perisic is convinced he will never have to return to the Nerazzurri and is excited to begin his new adventure back in Germany.
