Very terrible indeed, that we live in a world where people would believe that another human beings life is worthless, because somehow we are perfect and have the right to decide that other people are not. Mind your business. If their parents choose to be depressed because they have reduced their child to penis or vagina, then they only have themselves to blame. Making their child's struggles a personal yoke on their neck, instead of being good parents and doing all they can to ensure their child feels like they can express themselves and live their best life, regardless of whether they are lgbt or not, is not that difficult a choice to make. The only reason a parent would consider their child, any less worthy of their love abs support, is of they wilfully choose to be homophobic or transphobic. If you can look your child in the face, and utter the words, your sexuality or gender identity has caused me depression, you are no different to backwards parents who reject their female children or those who sell them for bride price in arranged marriages. Your child is not a literal extension of yourself. Instead of worrying about their genitalia, worry about instilling discipline, confidence, honesty, respect, responsibility, about their education, how you can help secure them for the future, so that when they grow up, they look back with gratitude and a strong sense of self. Nurture should not be denied any child, it is the fundamental building block of every successful and capable human being, whether lgbt or not. My heart goes out to those who happen to be lgbt, who's parents have used their child's struggle to selfishly play victim, without for a second considering that they as parents, more than anyone else, are supposed to be the source of love for their children, that is why they are parents.
