DMK ‘indifferent’ towards civic polls: Jayakumar

The ruling AIADMK on Friday accused the DMK of being “indifferent” towards local bodies’ polls.

D. Jayakumar, Fisheries Minister and organising secretary of the AIADMK, claimed that the DMK was seeking to evade the issue of participation in the elections. It was “silent” on who would be its allies. This showed that “the DMK has become weak,” he argued.

In contrast, the ruling party was all prepared to face the polls. “Once we register a spectacular victory in the elections, we are confident of continuing our winning streak in the 2021 Assembly polls,” he said.
