Kind Apes.... I’m venturing into making my own coils and have a couple of spools of Kanthal 26 & 28awg.
Wondering whether I should get some NI80 & SS316L to try as well. Would someone be able to give a brief description of the characteristics between the 3 types & certain benefits between them.

I only vape in regular wattage mode both MTL & DL. Thank in you

Hi mate,

Can't really say much about characteristics, but I prefer SS316, seems to give a nicer, cleaner vape, particularly with fruit flavours.
But obviously wire preference is personal thing. what I like may be what someone else hates.

^^^ this, i much prefer ss as i find a much cleaner/better flavour

Yes pal, all very subjective as with everything. Just wondering if one was particularly better than the others

They heat up and cool down at different rates from quickest to slowest.
NI80
SS316L
Kanthal

They have differing resistances for the same thickness from highest to lowest.

I like SS316 and 317. Both nice clean, crisp flavours for fruits like the gent up there said ^. But for the really big coils it’s Nichrome 80 or 60 mostly, and on sweeter juices I think Ni works better. . Ni90 is weird, not too struck on that and I hardly ever use kanthal. There’s lots of choice and the spools are quite a reasonable price now.

Cheers peeps, I’ll get a spool of Ni80 off the bay for now then get a load when I next do a FT order
