No, @ClimatePower “Climate Change” Isn’t Making It Harder to Vote

press release from a political group called “ClimatePower2020” makes ridiculously wild claims that “climate change” is making it more difficult to vote in the upcoming presidential election, by creating severe weather extremes that keep people from venturing out to vote. There’s simply no credible evidence that “climate change” has anything at all to do with voter access to in-person voting or mail-in voting. The premise is nothing more than climate alarmism at its worst.

The message conveyed by the press release is that “if you vote for Donald Trump, you are enabling voter suppression via climate” because Trump isn’t doing their bidding on climate issues.

At best, this is defective circular logic. At its worst, it’s an outright lie catering to low-information voters.

First, let’s look at who is behind this. The advisory board of this outfit reads like a who’s who of climate alarmism and community organization. It includes a stable of political hacks like Bill Clinton’s former chief of staff and “advisor” to Barack Obama John Podesta, coal baron turned climate activist and former presidential candidate Tom Steyer (based on his track record, Steyer is likely the money behind ClimatePower2020). Then there’s Dr. John Holdren, former Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), who once claimed that “global climate disruption” is what we experience every day, that the winter “polar vortex” was actually proof of global warming, and when pressed to show evidence to back it up, got caught by a Federal Judge in a “bad faith” case.

Then there’s the boatload of community organizers, actors, and social media wannabees that make up the remainder of the advisory board. Clearly, you should take anything ClimatePower2020 says with a grain of salt, because obviously, they are all about political action, and nothing about science.

Even the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), an arm of the United Nations, declared in their Special Report on Extreme Weather that they could not find any evidence of linkage between severe weather events and climate change. Also, in the  IPCC AR5 WGI Chapter 2 on extremes, they back that up with even more evidence saying there is no linkage.

But the bottom line is this: There’s no credible scientific evidence whatsoever to link climate change with any asserted increase in storms, rainfall, snowfall, heat, or cold events. From a science standpoint, it is a dead issue. Weather is not climate.

Nevertheless, climate alarmists continue to make claims that any variable and normal weather event is proof of alarming climate change. If this makes you wonder what the truth really is, visit ClimateAtAGlance.com where you will find dozens of scientific, easy-to-understand refutations of alarmist claims spanning topics from heatwaves, to floods, to drought, and even that poster child of climate change, polar bears.

Clearly, ClimatePower2020 believes that like the “dark side of The Force” in the Star Wars movie franchise, “climate change” is an “all-powerful Force” and there is nothing it can’t affect. But the scientific evidence simply isn’t there, so all we are left with is a belief system being used to influence the gullible. “The Force” can be powerful, influencing the weak-minded:

With the total lack of supporting evidence, the claims of ClimatePower2020 are just the “fake news” of another dark-money funded political group trying to influence the 2020 election.

True climate change has been taking place so slowly that it takes networks of sophisticated sensors, decades to even detect it. We must not mix up weather cycles that are part of the current climate with true climate change.

Kinda wish you hadn’t said this was ridiculous. It could have a salutary effect if climate alarmists decide it’s just too dangerous to go out and vote.

Or, they’ll consider themselves heroes for making the sacrifice for mankind, er, humankind, er, ah screw it.

Self-fulfilling prophecy? If Trump wins will they say it was caused by the climate?

Are they suggesting the effect will be differential? That people in flyover country are more capable of dealing with weather issues? Social Darwinism?

No doubt, since they say that Trump is the reason for climate change! People in flyover country have always been able to deal with weather issues. It just comes with the territory.

“… more capable of dealing with weather issues? Social Darwinism?”

After the midterms, it was suggested (I believe on MSNBC), that harsh weather during election day helped conservatives in some competitions.

You gotta hand it to em, the conflation of so-called “extreme” weather with climate was a stroke of marketing genius on the Climate Liars part. No matter how often it gets debunked, they just keep saying it, and the moronic Believers happily go along with it because weather is something we all experience and/or read about every day, whereas climate is a concept. On an emotional, very basic level because we are bombarded now with weather events pretty much 24/7, this feels like the weather has become much more active, or even “extreme”. It is an illusion, of course, but the climate numpties don’t care, because it neatly fits with their ideology. It’s genius.

You know, I always thought the stupidest political bureaucrats in the history of the world were the Pharisees in Christ’s time followed by British and French politicians between the World Wars. This article has set the bar even lower.

Even the “Climate believers” I know roll their eyes at this type of nonsense. But it’s probably part of a strategy to make the lesser lies seem OK. Useful idiots all!

I propose that Impeachment Hearings were a product of Climate Change. I watched incredulously how the House was using methods inadmissible even in a small claims court. I don’t really want to admit it myself, but the scene looked to me like a prelude to na*ism.

That’s exactly what I worry about! Useful idiots lapping up the climate porn, driving themselves more and more crazy as they exaggerate the already ridiculous claims of the IPCC, a ready mob for the eco-commi-fascists to control.

“At its worst, it’s an outright lie catering to low-information voters.”

In other words it’s the perfect vehicle to reach the average Democrat voter.

It has to help the skeptical side when such obvious stupidity gets trumpeted by the climatologists?

For every true believer who falls for it there has to be ten “undecideds” who look at a comment like that and decide that there is just too much bs coming from that group.

I actually welcome such outlandish over the top garbage as just like in the election it’s that fuzzy group in the middle that shifts everything

Ridiculous claims like this just cements those people as skeptics

Bravo

A positive way of looking at this is that maybe the climate insane decide it’s too dangerous to go out and vote, because they’ll catch on fire or a giant chunk of ice will fall on them (like in the documentary The Day After Tomorrow) and so they stay home and don’t vote.

There is always hope

You, of course, meant and/or right? In climateland, it’s perfectly possible that carbon dioxide molecules, just the human emission ones, of course, can cause giant chunks of ice to fall on people running from a climate wildfire. It’s quite sad really. I wouldn’t want to live there.

I wouldn’t be surprised if ice falling from the sky was starting the wildfire…

Wow, I remember when I (and earlier when my parents and grandparents) had to fight through early Autumn snow, sleet, and or rain to vote in freezing temperatures. Conditions were often much the same North of the Mason-Dixon from the North East across the Midwest to the Pacific. Northern Nevada had feet of snow in October and early November. There was a voting day line on how much turnout would be inhibited by bad weather. I guess that the panicky infant who wrote that piece may have voted in the last election. Considering demographics of that last one or the midterm, I hope that she/he/whatever finds it completely impossible to get off the couch this time. I voted for even better weather next time, plus cheaper gas prices so that I can get there easier.

The forecast for election day on Tuesday is for good weather all over the country. Trump must be holding back the bad weather so he can get more votes.

Wasn’t it racism that it make it to vote in the US by requiring an ID (something that isn’t even controversial in France or in most of Europe)?

October 30, 2020 9:53 pm

Record voting already, whether it is Absentee voting or so-called Mail-in voting, largest numbers ever and it is not even Tuesday yet.

All I have to do to vote is take the elevator to the lobby of my building. Will try it at 6 AM, if there is already a line will wait for mid-morning.
